    A.who was it that killeD
    B.who it was that killeD
    C.it was who killed
    D.who was it killeD.

根据强调句结构应为it was who that killed,再调整语序为who it was that killed。

Janet as well as the other young people who ____ sent abroad by government ___ brought up in the small town.

    A. was;was
    B. was;were
    C. were ;were
    D. were ;was

There are about 70 people__________in the accident.

    A.were killed
    B.who killed
    C.killing
    D.killed

    Losing Weight
Girls as young as 10 years old are dieting and in danger of developing unhealthy attitudes about weight, body image and food,a group of Toronto researchers reported Tuesday.
Their study of 2,279 girls aged 10 to 14 showed that while the vast majority had healthy weights, nearly a third felt they were overweight and were trying to lose pounds. Even at the tender age of 10,nearly 32 percent of girls felt"too fat"and 3 1 percent said they were trying to diet.
McVey,a researcher at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, and her colleagues analyzed data collected in a number of surveys of southern Ontario school girls between 1993 and 2003,reporting their findings in Tuesday's issue of the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
Nearly 80 percent of the girls had a healthy body weight and only 7.2 percent were considered overweight using standard weight-to-height ratios. Most researchers suggest the rate of overweight children in this country is several times higher than that figure.
Nearly 30 percent of the girls reported they were currently trying to lose weight, though few admitted to dangerous behavior such as self-induced vomiting.
Still,a test that measured attitudes towards eating showed 10.5 percent of survey participants were already at risk of developing an eating disorder.
"We're not talking about kids who've been prescribed a diet because they're above average weight or overweight. We're talking about children who are within a healthy weight range. And they have taken it upon themselves to diet to lose weight,"McVey said, acknowledging she found the rates disturbing. She said striking a balance between healthy weights and healthy attitudes towards food and body image is a complex task, with no easy solutions.

    The survey participants were girls______.
    A: who were 10
    B: who were 14
    C: who were 10 to 14
    D: who were 10 to 18

Passage 2 (1) A one-month survey results indicate that smoking, alcohol and marijuana use increase among residents of Manhattan during the five to eight weeks after the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center which took place on September 11, 2001. Almost one-third of the nearly 1000 persons interviewed reported an increased use of alcohol, marijuana, or cigarettes following the September 11 attacks. About one-fourth of the respondents said they were drinking more alcohol in the weeks after September 11; about one tenth reported an increase in smoking, and 3.2% said they had increased their use of marijuana. (2) The investigators found survey participants by randomly dialing New York City phone numbers and screened potential respondents for Manhattan residents living in areas close to the World Trade Center. Interviews were conducted with 988 individuals between October 16 and November 15, 2001. Participants were asked about their cigarette smoking, alcohol drinking, and marijuana use habits before and after September 11. During the week prior to September 11, 2001, 22.6% of the participants reported smoking cigarettes, 59.1% drinking alcohol, and 4.4% using marijuana. After September 11, 23.4% reported smoking cigarettes, 4.4% drinking alcohol, and 5.7% smoking marijuana. Among those who smoked, almost 10% reported smoking at least an extra pack of cigarettes a week and among those who drank alcohol, more than 20% reported imbibing at least one extra drink a day. The researchers found that people who reported an increase in substance abuse were more likely to suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and from depression (3) people who reported an increase in cigarette smoking or marijuana use were also more likely to have both PTSD and depression, while those people who reported an increase in alcohol use were more likely to have depression only. (4) Persons who were living closer to the World Trade Center were more likely to increase their cigarette smoking, but other factors such as being displaced from one’s home, losing possessions during the attacks, or being involved in the rescue efforts were not consistently associated with increased substance use. Symptoms of panic attack were associated with an increase in the use of all substances. Increase in substance abuse did not differ significantly between men and women or among racial or ethnic groups. (5) Demographic factors such as age, marital status, and income seemed tip play a more critical role in determining if the events of September 11 led to an increase in substance use.

(在句子结构上,本句含有一个宾语从句(that smoking…2001),其中又含有一个定语从句(which took place…2001)修饰the terrorist attacks(恐怖袭击)。介词结构among residents of Manhattan和during the five... on the World Trade Center则是修饰the terrorist attacks。
需注意的是,by randomly…phone numbers是前一个谓语(found)的方式状语,而living in areas…
前一分句含有一个定语从句(who were living closer to the World Trade Center),后一分句中应注意主语后有一个for example引出的插入语。
此外,such as… play a more critical role in意为“在…
