Grace and I are good friends. We get on very well with each other, though sometimes we fight. I remember last year we didn-t talk with each other for a long time before Mid-Autumn Day. But when we met each other that day, we became good friends again.
We both study well. We like talking about problems in our studies. We also like making up(编) stories. We made up one in English last month. It was called "Magic Sunflower Club".I think this is a wonderful name.
Do you want to know more about us? Grace is tall and active. She does better in P. E.than me. She is good at music. She plays the piano so well that sometimes birds come to listen to her.
I-m shorter and quieter than Grace. I know a lot about science. I often have some new i—deas.I-m good at math and art. Our teacher says my drawing is getting better and better. If we don-t know something very well, we help each other. So we never have any prob-lems.

Passage Five
Australia is nearly as large as the United States, but most of it is too dry for people to live in. Around
this dry part are large sheep and cow farms. A few of them are as large as the smallest states: of America.
Often the nearest neighbours are several hundred kilometers away.
The two-way radio is very important to people who live on these great Australian farms. It works much like a
telephone. A person can listen to someone else talk and then gives an answer. For example, people on
the large farms could talk to a doctor far away. They could tell the doctor about someone who was ill,
and the doctor could let them know how to look after the sick person.
As the large farms were so far from towns, the children could not go to school. Radio schools were
started for them in some places. At a certain time each day, boys and girls turn on their radios and
listen to teachers in cities far away.
Families on the large farms wanted to give news to their neighbours. The programme Round Robin
Talks by radio was started to keep families in touch with each other. They could talk about who was
going away and who was iii. The men could talk about their sheep and cows and how much money
the markets would pay for them. In many ways the radio became a newspaper for the farm people of Australia.

Passage Five
Danny was just tired about the way things were going. His mom came to the school and went on and on talking about Rick Jackson. It seemed that she would never stop talking. "Somebody's got to stop that boy!" she was shouting, "Rick's troubling everybody in the neighborhood. And he loves to pick on little boys like Danny."
Mrs. Green, Danny's teacher, was concerned a lot. "I didn't know that Danny was being picked on," she nswered. "He's never said anything about this to me!" Mrs. Green looked at Danny. "How long has this been going on?" She asked. Danny could only shake his head and look at the floor. He knew if he said a word about this, he would have trouble after school.
Danny hadn't said anything about the problem because he wanted to play with the boys in the neighborhood. After all, most of them were nice to him. He hated to leave the gang just because of Rick. Maybe the time had come to find new friends. He felt it hard to make up his mind.
