But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars and clean fuels to completely replace the traditional ones.
    Another solution is to improve modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. If the public transportation system is efficient and convenient enough, most people will choose means of public transportation over private cars. And the total number of cars in big cities will be reduced greatly.
    On the whole, the problem of air pollution caused by cars can only be solved by the co-efforts from the government and the public and with the help of science and technology.
